It feels like yet another blow this year for Serena Williams but in tennis, injury is something you cannot avoid. When Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu walked over to Serena Williams in the final match for the Rogers Cup on Sunday in Toronto, no one could have predicted how that would go. She held her arms wide open and gave her hero -Serena a hug. The kind of hug you need when your day is not going exactly as planned.
Andreescu's gesture showed women in a kinder light. Most times, we are not nice to one another. It feels hard to write this as a woman. Some women would prefer to work with men than with women. The world would be a happier place if women stood together for each other. A beautiful lesson learnt!
