Spread the love

Every 73 seconds an American is sexually assaulted.1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime (14.8% completed, 2.8% attempted).  From 2009-2013, Child Protective Services agencies substantiated or found strong evidence to indicate that, 63,000 children a year were victims of sexual abuse. A majority of child victims are 12-17. Of victims under the age of 18: 34% of victims of sexual assault and rape are under age 12, and 66% of victims of sexual assault and rape are age 12-17.  48% of those victims were assaulted whilst they were sleeping.  29% were travelling to and from work or school or traveling to shop or run errands. 12% were working. 7% were attending school. 5% were doing an unknown or other activity. The statistics provided by RAINN is problematic because it shows that there is an epidemic of sexual assault yet the same website shows that sexual assault has been on the decrease since 1993. Can you heal after sexual violence has been done to you? Must you forgive your perpetrator? Can you trust anyone again?

Forgiveness is one of the keys to healing after a trauma like sexual abuse argues, Mrs Conrad. It’s hard to forgive but when we do, we stop the perpetrator from hurting us all over again. She shared her story in this very special edition of how God healed her and used what was meant to hurt her for her good.

Healing from Sexual Trauma is possible but you must let go and let God. It is unclear what the path to healing is if you are not a Christian. A big thanks to CancomR Corporation for their continuous support, benevolence and sponsorship.
