Exciting times at Ladiescorner.ca!
We have decided to join the wellness, healthy living, eating healthy community. We wanted to make our first post about self-love.
In many ways, self-love has been talked about over and over again. Many of us have attended wellness workshops and seminars on wellness, mental health and so on.
Yet, mental illness indirectly affects all Canadians at some time through a family member, friend or colleague. 1 in 5 people in Canada will personally experience a mental health problem or illness. Mental illness does not discriminate. It affects people of all ages, education, income levels and cultures. Approximately,8% of adults will experience major depression in their lives.
Why do we need to talk about self-love?
The first obvious reason is that if we are not talking about it, no one else will. If we don’t practise self-love – being kind to ourselves, no one else will.
This is our first post. We have made only one point. Be kind to yourself. How can you do this?
How would you treat a five-year-old girl? Treat yourself as gentle as you would treat your five-year-old self. Or your 10-year-old self.
You are polite to others, be polite to you. Give yourself a chance to breathe. To live.
At the end of the day, it will be alright.
