How to Apply
Applications are moving onto our portal system this year. This means you will be asked to answer a series of questions rather than put together a formal application.

As this is the first year using this system, we recommend applicants save their answers on the worksheet in case there are any issues with the system.
Further details will be available in late January on how to use the portal system.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
To be eligible, the applicant must be an individual, registered non-profit society, or collective of individuals whose residence or location of work is in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.
If applying as an individual, the applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident over the age of 18.

Please note that grants are taxable income that must be reported when filing personal income taxes. If successful, the grant cheque will be made out to the organization or individual identified as the applicant on the grant application form. EHC is unable to distribute grant funds to multiple recipients or make grant payments in installments. EHC recommends seeking professional accounting assistance if you have questions about reporting this income.
WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE?
Applicants cannot have already been awarded an HCIP Project Accelerator Grant during the current calendar year. Applicants must be up to date with final reports for other HCIP-funded work, including returning any unused grant funds. Applicants who have been granted extensions on other HCIP-funded work are also not eligible to apply.
HCIP excludes educational institutions and government owned and/or operated facilities. Individuals employed by these institutions are also ineligible, unless they can demonstrate that the project is outside of their professional role within the organization and will be of value in the broader heritage sector.
Projects are not eligible if work has already begun or is planned to begin prior to receiving notification about grant results from the Edmonton Heritage Council.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE?
Upcoming deadlines for Project Accelerator Grant applications are:

- September 7, 2022
You will need to submit your application using our portal system. Information on how to access the portal will be available in late January.
Applications are due by 4:00 PM on the deadline day.
FINAL REPORTING
All grant recipients are required to submit a Final Report to the EHC to share the outcomes of grant funding. Final Reports are due 90 days after project completion or by the date listed in the Letter of Agreement signed by the EHC and the successful applicant organization (whichever comes first). Submit your Final Report using the downloadable forms below.
