Queen Mercy moved to Edmonton to join her Canadian husband in 2015 from Ondo State in Nigeria. Ondo State is in western Nigeria. She was a business woman who dealt in fabrics, accessories and hair products.
Home hair stylists are quite predominant in Edmonton today. You find many of these entrepreneurs have their basement set us as salons, massage rooms, nail treatment centres and so on. Many business owners who choose to work from home do so for various reasons. The predominant cause can be attributed to child care.

When we asked her how her business fared in pandemic, she told us “People cancel easily. The business situation is tough, unreliable and uncertain. It is also strange that you cannot see peoples faces because they have to wear masks’.
