Support for Minister Kaycee Madu grows in the community with people saying he was racially profiled and victimized. An online group, led by a man known as  Kenny B has achieved 2,500 signatures on Change.org

Here is the blurb of the equitable campaign:

“Ongoing investigations about Honourable Minister Kaycee Madu, the Attorney General of Alberta. Bias media coverage and collusion by MEDIA .

Solution:  Fair and equitable hearing for the Honourable Minister.

As a community, we see the Honourable Minister as a voice for racialized people in  Alberta  and across Canada. Black people experience systemic and anti-Black Racism frequently, irrespective of what we do or how we do it. Based on the facts available to the public, we believe the Minister was unduly targeted because of his race, and his stand against certain elements in the police.

To the critics cited in the article and others questioning his right to call the police chief. They see the  Minister as a token. He is the chief legal and justice officer, but he is not allowed or expected to LEAD! He has a voice, but he is muzzled, and he is not expected to SPEAK! When he dares to LEAD and or SPEAK, he is unlawfully targeted, ridiculed, and all his experience, skills, accolades, education ceases to matter.
Let us STAND for Honorable Minister Kaycee Madu.
A STAND for Kaycee is a STAND for EQUITABLE JUSTICE!
A STAND for Kaycee is a STAND for People of African Descent!
A STAND for Kaycee is a STAND against Anti-Black racism!
A STAND for Kaycee is a STAND for YOU!”

Some of the reasons the petitioners gave for signing are:

“The issue raised by Honourable Kaycee with the police Chief remains valid and unresolved- racial profiling.. This is no indication that his conversation with the police was to rescind the ticket”.

“Am a victim of racial profiling. So I know how it is”.

“I’m because I believe it’s time to deal with the systemic racism. … it is simply a matter of time they would have found something wrong with him regardless …..then nail him! No matter what you do….”

“He was falsely accused of making call while driving whereas his phone was in his inside pocket. He was marked to dragged down by Police just because he was working to stop Police profiling of the minority community in Alberta.”

We must not stand by and watch the injustice, disrespect, racism and discrimination continue today in the 21st. Century, to be perpetrated against.
Black Peoples wherever they are and Mr. Kenny must be called to order and asked to see a human in himself and empathize; and, do the Right thing.

” I stand against Anti racism and Anti Oppression. I stand for Kaycee Madu. He deserves to be treated fairly. I stand for Equity, fairness and social Justice. Justice for Kayce Madu.”

“I am in support of suspended Justice Minister.
His voice must respected and recognized.”
