Applications are now open for the Transforming Systems Grants (TSG), running from November 18, 2024, to January 14, 2025. These grants offer a unique opportunity for organizations dedicated to systemic change to secure $100,000 per year for three years in flexible operational funding.
Who Can Apply?
Qualified donees, registered non-profit societies, and co-operatives actively addressing the root causes of inequality and empowering those most affected to shape their own futures are encouraged to apply. TSG supports organizations that embrace intersectionality, allyship, and mutual liberation in their efforts to challenge oppressive systems and drive meaningful change.
What Does “Addressing Root Causes” Mean?
This means working to dismantle unfair laws, policies, and practices that perpetuate inequality. For detailed definitions and key terms, refer to page 7 of the application guide.
Why Operational Funding?
Now more than ever, operational funding is crucial. TSG is designed to support the day-to-day expenses of organizations, offering the flexibility to allocate resources where they are most needed. Unlike project-based funding, this operational support empowers organizations to focus on their mission and priorities.
Application Timeline
- November 18, 2024: Stage 1 applications open online at 9:00 am PT.
- January 14, 2025: Stage 1 applications close at 5:00 pm PT.
- January to March 2025: Stage 1 applications reviewed for eligibility and alignment with funding goals.
- March 2025: Randomized selection process; selected organizations invited to proceed to Stage 2 (oral or written).
- March to April 2025: Stage 2 applications open.
- June 2025: Final funding decisions communicated to all Stage 2 applicants.
