Sisters Dialogue is thrilled to announce the official opening of Amanah: A Safer Space for Muslim Women and Girls on Monday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
Located in the heart of Edmonton, this transformative initiative is dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally sensitive environment for Muslim women and girls to connect, heal, and thrive.
The opening ceremony will take place at Amanah’s newly established space, with a program that includes remarks from community leaders, blessing by an elder, an intentional opening activity, and a guided tour of the facility. Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the programs and services Amanah offers.
“Amanah was created to address the unique challenges faced by Muslim women and girls in our community. It’s a space where they can feel safe, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves,” said Wati Rahmat, Founder of Sisters Dialogue. “We are excited to celebrate this milestone with the community and begin a new chapter of supporting and uplifting one another.”
Highlights of Amanah’s Offerings:
  • Supportive Programming: Workshops, peer support groups, and activities focused on healing, connections, and personal development.
  • Cultural Safety: A space designed with cultural sensitivity and an understanding of intersectional identities.
  • Community Building: A hub for fostering connections and solidarity among Muslim women and girls from diverse backgrounds and the broader Edmonton community.
Amanah is the result of tireless advocacy and community collaboration, supported by the generosity of donors, volunteers, and partners who share Sisters Dialogue’s vision of creating equitable and inclusive spaces.
