City awards grant funding to advance community safety and well-being
City of Edmonton Announces New Community Safety and Well-being Grant Recipients
The City of Edmonton is proud to announce the latest recipients of grant funding through the Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Strategy. This one-time funding, awarded through two grant streams—Early Intervention/Intervention and Collaboration—will empower community organizations dedicated to building a city where every resident feels safe, included, and supported.
This round of funding was awarded to previously unfunded applications from the Early Intervention/Intervention and Collaboration grants, ensuring crucial community-led initiatives receive the resources they need.
Supporting Community Safety and Inclusion
The Early Intervention/Intervention Grant is designed to address critical challenges aligned with the CSWB pillars, including Crime Prevention & Crisis Intervention, Pathways In and Out of Poverty, Safe and Inclusive Spaces, and Well-being. Meanwhile, the Collaboration Grant supports initiatives that strengthen partnerships and establish new collaborative efforts to achieve the strategy’s long-term goals.
“Community safety and well-being are top priorities for us. These grants represent an important investment in initiatives that support Edmonton’s most vulnerable residents, strengthen communities, and promote inclusion,” said Mayor Amarjeet Sohi. “By working alongside local organizations, we are helping build a city where everyone feels secure, supported, and empowered.”

A total of $1,187,062 has been awarded through this grant intake, with $474,380 allocated for 2024 and $712,682 set to be disbursed in 2025.
