Edmonton News

The City of Edmonton sent this press release out yesterday. Edmontonians would be delighted that their assessment notices will be coming through the post. Mail services appear delayed possibly because of the Christmas pressure and Covid-19 related issues, but your assessment is coming if you are a home owner.

In a change from previous years, 2022 property assessment notices will be sent out on January 14. Notices were previously mailed in the first week of January, and in February 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City made the change this year to ensure assessment information doesn’t get lost in the busy post-holiday period.

Assessment notices contain important information about a property’s value, and will help to ensure each property owner pays their fair share of property taxes in 2022. After City Council approved the 2022 budget last December, property assessments are the next step in the property taxation cycle. Property tax notices will be mailed to property owners in May, as usual.
Assessment information will also be posted to the myproperty.edmonton.ca website on January 14, enabling Edmontonians to access all of their assessment and tax information online.
