Endings and Beginnings: Day 1 Daily Devotions with Pastor Greg Obong-Oshotse

Spread the love

Text: 1 Samuel 2:30c “. . . those who honour me I will honour. . .

Pastor Greg
Honoring God in 2021 is the most apt thing we can do in the year of our Lord.

Another dawn. Another month. A New Year is begun. And the race to make new resolutions is once again rekindled with the first sunrise of the New Year. Not a few people will have another run, making resolutions to live a happier life.
But desire is one thing, and reality another. One statistic says,
“Of those that made a resolution in 2020, 35% kept all their resolutions, 49% kept
some of their resolutions, and only 16% failed at keeping any of their resolution.”
If you are struggling to make or keep one, let the Lord give you one. Your success is guaranteed because you will be working together. What He gives, He protects. What He assigns, He equips. What He starts, He finishes. Here’s a resolution He’ll collaborate on: Those who honor me I will honor. Nothing could have a greater guarantee of success. As a believer, you are already in covenant relationship with
Him. Isaiah tells the Israelites that their God is the one “who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters.”

Regarding the failures of the past, He says, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing.” What needs doing may seem impossible but He says, “I will make a way in the
wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah’s God is your
God too. He honored Abel, Noah, Abraham, Joseph,
Moses, Ruth, Esther, Hannah, David, Elijah, the prophets and the apostles.
