Opt out of a paper waste collection

Help reduce waste by opting out of a paper waste collection calendar

Residents with curbside collection can now opt out of receiving a 2023-24 paper waste collection calendar by visiting edmonton.ca/CalendarOptOut.
Reducing the use of paper calendars can help the City and its residents reach climate goals and preserve our environment for future generations. Last year, 25,000 residents—about 10 percent of households receiving curbside collection—opted out of a printed collection calendar, instead using digital options to view their waste collection schedule.
The digital 2023/24 collection schedules are available now through WasteWise, the City of Edmonton’s waste management tool. WasteWise is available as an app or online at edmonton.ca/WasteWise. In addition to viewing collection calendars, the app provides sorting tips and can provide collection day reminders to help residents track when to set out their waste.
The deadline to opt out of printed calendar delivery is February 13. Printed calendars, which cover April 2023 through March 2024, are expected to be mailed out in March.
