About the BYLP:

The Black Youth Leadership Program, led by the Council for the Advancement of African Canadians (CAAC) in Alberta in partnership with the Crown Mentorship Foundation, is an empowering initiative dedicated to fostering leadership and civic engagement among Black youth. BYLP offers resources, training, and micro-grants to support young leaders in organizing community initiatives and promoting volunteerism. Through this program, participants gain valuable skills, build confidence, and learn the importance of community ownership and accountability.

With structured activities and mentorship opportunities, BYLP encourages participants to design and lead initiatives that contribute to both their personal growth and the well-being of their communities. The program emphasizes democratic engagement, equity, diversity, and inclusion, inspiring youth to make a lasting impact through service and innovation.
