Ashley Salvador Launches 2025 Re-Election Campaign for Ward Métis
EDMONTON, AB — On Saturday, May 10, community leader and City Councillor Ashley Salvador officially launched her 2025 re-election campaign in Ward Métis, committing to continue building a safe, inclusive, and sustainable Edmonton for all.
In front of a supportive crowd at Parkdale-Cromdale Community Hall, Salvador shared her renewed vision for the city — one rooted in smart planning, affordability, and community well-being. “I remain dedicated to protecting public services, improving access to housing and transit, and investing in the infrastructure Edmontonians rely on every day,” she said.
Salvador’s leadership has already made a meaningful impact. In her first term, she helped guide Edmonton through the pandemic, record inflation, and rapid population growth. She also played a key role in implementing Edmonton’s first Derelict Tax Subclass, which reduced inner-city structure fires by 31% and held absentee property owners accountable.
A champion of thoughtful urban development, Salvador has led zoning reforms to encourage housing diversity, 15-minute walkable communities, and sustainable “in and up” growth strategies that protect Edmonton’s long-term financial future.
Campaign Priorities That Reflect Everyday Needs
Ashley’s 2025 platform is built around six community-informed pillars:
-
Smart Planning for Connected Communities
-
Safe, Healthy, and Inclusive Neighbourhoods
-
Strong Budgets and Reliable City Services
-
Protecting and Growing the Local Economy
-
Climate Resilience and Environmental Stewardship
-
Independent Leadership That Puts People First
“Ashley’s commitment to equity and inclusion is not just talk,” said Dunia Nur, President of the African Canadian Civic Engagement Council. “She works to break barriers and uplift communities across our city.”
Putting People Before Party Politics
In a bold move, Salvador is once again running as an independent, emphasizing that local leadership should serve residents — not political parties. “Party politics has no place in City Hall,” she says. “I answer to the people of Ward Métis and all Edmontonians — not a party agenda.”
Ashley Salvador’s vision is clear: an Edmonton where communities thrive, families feel safe, services are strong, and everyone belongs. To learn more or get involved:
