World Mental Health Day
October 10, 2025
Today is World Mental Health Day — a time to remind ourselves that mental health matters to everyone.
Minister of Mental Health and Addiction Rick Wilson is encouraging Albertans to reach out for support and to keep the conversation about mental wellness open and strong.
“Mental health touches us all,” Wilson shared. “It affects our families, friends, and communities. Too many people still face barriers like stigma, silence, or difficulty finding help. We want everyone to know that recovery is possible and support is available.”
The Alberta government is investing in programs that make mental health care easier to access, especially for young people.
This includes:
Supporting CASA Mental Health and other community organizations. Expanding school-based mental health initiatives like the Integrated School Support Program. Continuing partnerships with Kids Help Phone. Enhancing youth mental health hubs and improving access to care for eating disorders. Making counselling more affordable and accessible for people of all ages.
If you or someone you know needs help, call 211 Alberta to get connected to mental health services in your community.
You are not alone — with the right support, recovery and wellness are possible. 💚
