Tunde Obasan on The Launch of Conservative Black Congress of Canada on January 24th

The Conservative Black Congress of Canada is a not-for-profit organization that recognizes the need to establish a political outreach to the Black communities in Canada. Their mission is to encourage Black Canadians to get more involved in politics and to create programs for youths to increase awareness and groom them for political positions in the future. Immigrants are passionate about education he said, opining that immigrants should get involved in politics.

The need for a grass roots movement was made clear by the strong performance of Dr Leslyn Lewis in her bid for Conservative Leader in 2020. In a post Trump era and with the remote possibility of a Federal Election, the Federal Conservative Party must do their best to register as many people as it can to win in any election. The launch of the Black Conservative Black Congress sits with the over goal of getting the party more diverse.
