Business Profile – Dr Jennifer Njenga – Canada Homecare Group

Dr Jennifer Njenga
The vision came about not only because of their professional years of experience, but also by caring and supporting their own elderly parents and family members in maintaining health and independence at home.

She is the CEO of Canada Homecare Group, an afterhours  mobile clinic that was started early in 2019 in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. The clinic provides  house calls, to all ages across Edmonton. The clinic serves patients with various needs,  including seniors, patients with chronic disease, including mental health issues, such as  depression and anxiety. Other patients served include new immigrants and refugees and young  families. The team is diverse, and speaks several languages including Punjabi, Somali, and  Swahili, some of the languages spoken by new immigrants.

Dr Njenga is a Physician with nearly  20 years of clinical and non-clinical medicine in various countries, including Uganda, South  Africa, Namibia, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada. Dr Njenga served on the National  Sudden Death of an Infant Syndrome Committee and worked with a team to create and develop  an Integrated Maternal and Child Health Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. Dr Njenga also led  the development of Primary Care Clinical Pathways, in Auckland New Zealand.

Dr Njenga  collaborates and advises on various committees including the Alberta Refugee Health Coalition  and the Butaleja Covid-19 Advisory Committee, for Butaleja District, Eastern Uganda. Dr Njenga  has several places she calls home, including the countries mentioned as well, Kenya, where her  husband, Dr Michael Njenga comes from.

Dr and Dr Njenga have 2 children, aged 13 and 14  years of age and enjoy spending their time with them.
