Africa Centre is excited to announce that applications are open for the Edmonton Refugee & Emerging Community (EREC) scholarship for 2022.
Established at the Edmonton Community Foundation (ECF), the EREC scholarship fund is to enhance the quality of life for refugees and members of Emerging Communities living in the greater Edmonton area, towards academic goals. Through a Scholarship Advisory Committee, Africa Centre collaborates with the emerging community to facilitate the operation of this initiative annually.
To be eligible:
You are a member of an emerging community
You are attending a school in the greater Edmonton area, or intending to attend a school in the greater Edmonton.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens, Permanent Resident or Protected Persons under Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Visa Students are not eligible)
Priority will be given to students who:
- Experience financial need
- Current residents of Edmonton or the four surrounding counties
- Demonstrate commitment to studies, maturity
