The HERConnect initiative, a visionary program spearheaded by the Ladies in the Family Foundation (LIFF), is a beacon of hope and support for individuals in need of mental health services. In partnership with the Alberta Black Therapist Network (ABTN) and Health Research Partners (HRP), and with the generous support of the City of Calgary’s Community Safety Investment Framework, HERConnect is dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing free access to mental health support and crisis management services.
Our Mission
At HERConnect, our mission is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to the mental health support they need. Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and we believe that addressing these issues is crucial for building a healthier, more resilient community.
Our Services
HERConnect offers a range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of our community. From individual counselling sessions and crisis intervention, our programs are tailored to provide comprehensive care. Our partnership with ABTN ensures that culturally competent care is available, recognizing and addressing the unique experiences of Black individuals and other marginalized groups.
Community Impact
The impact of the HERConnect initiative extends beyond individual support. By fostering a community where mental health is openly discussed and prioritized, we are working to reduce stigma and create an environment where seeking help is seen as a strength. Our collaboration with HRP allows us to continually assess and improve our services based on the latest research and community feedback.
