Candidate Forum Recap – Ward Nakota Isga

Spread the love

Last night, we hosted the Ward Nakota Isga Candidate Forum, where community members came together to hear from four candidates: Nicky Goucan, Reed Clarke, Joseph Mugodo, and Rajah Maggay. Each candidate shared their ideas for the ward and answered questions on the issues that matter most to residents.

The conversation was open and honest, covering concerns like the disconnect between councillors and Edmontonians, the impact of rising property taxes, and how the city can balance its budget while keeping life affordable. Candidates also shared their views on infill development, discussing how Edmonton can add more housing while still protecting the character of existing neighbourhoods.

Public safety, homelessness, and support for small businesses were also front and centre. The discussion reflected the ward’s diversity and highlighted the importance of making sure everyone — from newcomers and renters to long-time homeowners and business owners — has a voice at City Hall.

We’re grateful to the candidates for stepping forward and to the community members who joined us. Your participation makes these conversations meaningful and keeps democracy alive in Ward Nakota Isga.
