Yeg- the Come up Gives Their All To Charity | Community Event

I want to thank David Shepherd, MLA Edmonton-City Centre for introducing methe amazing work done by YEG -The Come Up.They packed 150 backpacks Syrian families. The bags contained toiletries, a water bottle and a cereal bar. As hot as the way was, the organizers had an impressive turn out of young people who cameTo help. David Shepherd was also there to lend his support.

In a recently concluded event, the youth arm of the Africa Centre organised a bag packing event where they packed 150 bags of essential aid for the girls in Syrian refugee families.

The Youths were engaged, respectful and hard working. Their leaders are featured in the interview below. They are the future.  YEG- thecomeup had in excess of 30 young people gathered together to pack these bags.  Each of the bag pack had a soap, toothpaste and toothbrush, a snack bar and a water bottle. The exercise was a collaboration with several charitable organisations like the  Alberta PIRG, Somali Canadian Women and Children Association, YESS and Islamic Family and Social Services Association -IFSSAT
