Candidate Forum Recap – Ward Sspomitapi
On Saturday, August 16th, our community gathered for a candidate forum that featured two thoughtful participants: Jo Anne Wright and Annie Chua-Frith. Although only these two candidates attended, the conversation was engaging, substantive, and lasted a full one hour and twenty minutes.
With fewer voices at the table, both candidates were able to expand on their positions in detail. They discussed issues most relevant to residents, including community safety, infrastructure, affordability, and inclusivity. The smaller setting created an opportunity for respectful dialogue, giving residents a clear sense of each candidate’s priorities and approach to leadership.
This forum highlighted the value of meaningful civic engagement. While the turnout of candidates was smaller than expected, the depth of conversation offered voters clarity and insight into how each candidate envisions serving the ward.
Thanks to all who joined and tuned in. Every conversation like this brings us closer to a stronger, more connected community.
