LitFest 2025 Announces Theme: Everybody Reads NonfictionCanada’s Original Nonfiction Festival Returns October 15-19, 2025 

 LitFest is thrilled to announce its 2025 theme: Everybody Reads Nonfiction.From bus ads to recipes, from memoirs to the news, we all engage with nonfiction writing and storytelling in our daily lives

Taking place October 15-19, 2025, LitFest will once again transform Edmonton, Alberta, into a creative hub for readers and writers who love true stories in all their forms. Over five inspiring days, audiences will enjoy author readings, panels, and workshops with some of the most exciting voices in nonfiction today

Nonfiction is everywhere and it is for all of us,” says Ellen Kartz, LitFest’s Executive Director. This year’s festival celebrates the universal experiences that bring us together.” 

 

Some 2025 Festival Highlights

Some of the festival highlights include: Author Paul Myers and his book John Candy: A Life in Comedy , New memoirs from Chyana Marie Sage, Quill ChristiePeters and Vinh Nguyen, Writing workshop with poet Amber Dawn , Canadian curling sensation John Cullen and his new book Curling Rocks

The 2025 program will feature bestselling authors, awardwinning journalists, emerging voices, and local storytellers, covering topics including social justice, science, personal journeys, and political change. With events for all ages, LitFest invites both seasoned readers and the curious to join in
