A Focus on Gender Equality Week
“Gender Equality Week is an opportunity to recognize our accomplishments and reaffirm our commitment to ensuring every Albertan has the chance to succeed at home, in the workplace and in their communities.
“Alberta has a long history of trail-blazing women who paved the way for future generations and I am proud to see that same spirit alive today. As we look ahead at the work that remains, I want to thank the community groups, non-profits and volunteers for continuing to champion gender equality on every front.
“Alberta’s government is committed to creating opportunities for all Albertans to thrive and contribute to our ongoing growth as a province. Resources like the Women’s Hub and post-secondary scholarships, supporting education in fields like science, technology, engineering, math and the technical arts, are helping build strong futures and a prosperous Alberta.
“We are also ensuring Albertans can live safely through Building on Our Strengths: Alberta’s 10-year Strategy to End Gender-Based Violence, which lays out over 100 concrete actions to prevent violence, support survivors, promote Indigenous-led solutions and advance women’s economic independence.
“The journey toward gender equality requires more than government initiatives. It takes each of us challenging stereotypes, educating ourselves and working together to ensure Alberta remains the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
