Alberta Honours Nine Exceptional Leaders

Nine outstanding Albertans have been named to the Alberta Order of Excellence, the province’s highest honour. The investiture ceremony will take place at Government House, celebrating a lifetime of meaningful contributions to Alberta.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome these individuals to the Alberta Order of Excellence,” said Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta. “This honour recognizes not just a single achievement, but a lifetime of service. These nine Albertans are not only leaders in their fields — they are pillars in their communities.”

Since its creation in 1979, the Alberta Order of Excellence has recognized 229 recipients over 45 years. It is part of the official Canadian Honours System and celebrates people who have made a lasting difference in the province.

This year’s inductees are:

Sine Chadi (Edmonton) – A respected entrepreneur, philanthropist and former MLA, known for preserving and strengthening Alberta’s community institutions.

Geoff Cumming (Calgary) – An international businessman and philanthropist whose support of medical research at the University of Calgary is driving breakthroughs in disease and pandemic response.

John Day (Edmonton) – A leader in law, business and civic engagement who helped shape Edmonton’s cultural landscape and championed heritage preservation.

Brian Felesky (Calgary) – A lawyer, businessman and mentor whose philanthropy supports everything from domestic violence survivors to education in East Africa.

Stephanie Felesky (Calgary) – A dedicated community leader and volunteer whose work has improved child safety and global development initiatives.

Nichole Neubauer (Medicine Hat) – A trailblazing agricultural advocate who inspires young people to see farming as a vibrant and essential career.

Lyn Radford (Red Deer) – A passionate community builder whose leadership has brought major sporting events to Red Deer and strengthened local volunteerism.

John Scott (Longview) – A legendary rancher, stuntman and producer who helped put Alberta’s Western heritage and film industry on the map.

Doug Stollery (Edmonton) – A lawyer, philanthropist and human rights advocate who helped secure Charter protections for 2SLGBTQ Canadians and championed education and health initiatives.

These nine Albertans have shaped communities, industries, and institutions — leaving legacies that will be felt for generations.
