Morgan Secures Council Seat with Grassroots Support

Edmonton, AB — October 21, 2025 — Jon Morgan is projected to be the next Councillor for Ward Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi after securing a clear lead in Monday’s municipal election. With 90.5% of votes reported, Morgan received 6,025 votes, capturing 36.8% of the total ballots cast.

Jennifer Rice followed closely with 5,454 votes (33.31%), while Funke Olokude came in third with 2,714 votes (16.58%). Other candidates in the race included Nicholas Rheubottom, Ramey Demian, Fahad Mughal, and Beth Mathison.

Morgan’s victory reflects strong support from residents who responded to his campaign message focused on practical solutions and community connection.

Over the past several months, Morgan campaigned on issues that matter to Ward Ipiihkoohkanipiaohtsi residents — affordability, community safety, transparency, and ensuring that local voices are heard at City Hall.
