The City of Edmonton is pleased to announce the launch of two new grant programs intended to help advance the Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Strategy.

The goal of the CSWB Grants Program is to create a more inclusive and compassionate city by supporting initiatives that work to improve equity, end poverty, eliminate racism, progress toward truth and reconciliation, foster safe and inclusive spaces, increase crime prevention and crisis intervention or boost the overall well-being of Edmontonians.

The Early Intervention/Intervention Grant Program is intended to provide one-time funding for early intervention and intervention programming within the following CSWB Pillars: Safe and Inclusive Spaces, Well-Being, Poverty and Crime Prevention and Crisis Intervention.

Early intervention and intervention programs focus on addressing issues at an early stage or by supporting those already affected by a problem and to keep the problem from worsening. One-time funding totalling $2,668,000 has been allocated to this grant program.

The Collaboration Grant Program is intended to enhance existing or establish new collaborations or partnerships in support of the goals of the CSWB Strategy. A collaborative/collaboration is defined as two or more organizations that are currently working together or planning to work together on addressing one or more of the seven CSWB pillars (Anti-Racism, Reconciliation, Well-Being, Safe and Inclusive Spaces, Poverty, Crime Prevention and Crisis Intervention and Equitable Policies).

One-time funding totalling $1,345,000 has been allocated, with a minimum of $350,000 of total grant funding provided for ethnocultural organizations and/or organizations focused on anti-racism efforts. An additional $150,000 will be made available for collaboration in the first quarter of 2024.

The City will host online Grant Information Sessions for interested applicants to provide a better understanding of program eligibility requirements, tips for completing an application, and details on timelines for review and decisions. Pre-registration is required and available on the City’s CSWB Grants webpage.

The deadline for applications are:
Wednesday, January 10, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. for the CSWB Early Intervention/Intervention Grant Program.
Wednesday, January 24, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. for the CSWB Collaboration Grant Program.
