International Volunteer Day | Minister Tanya Fir

Spread the love

“On International Volunteer Day, we recognize and appreciate the extraordinary contributions of volunteers who tirelessly dedicate their time and energy to positively impacting our communities. From those who mow the lawns of their community sports fields to those who spend hours orchestrating events and festivals, volunteers are the key to Alberta’s vibrant communities. Alberta’s volunteers provide essential services, support vulnerable populations and breathe life into the heart of their communities in every corner of our province.

“Their actions address Albertans’ immediate needs and inspire others to get involved, creating a ripple effect of positive change. It is incredible to see the power of volunteerism bringing people together, making communities more vibrant and ensuring Alberta is an inclusive place to live, work and raise a family.

“On this special day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the countless volunteers who give their time and effort to create a brighter future for Albertans. We are honoured to acknowledge Alberta’s remarkable volunteers, and we look forward to formally celebrating nine outstanding Albertans at this year’s Stars of Alberta Volunteer Awards taking place on Friday, Dec. 8.”
