Canajan comes from the word “Canada and Janitorial” services. We help professionals and seniors by making their lives easier. We do cleaning services, window washing and carpet cleaning in residential and commercial areas.

How did you get your idea or concept for your business?

Cleaning is my solace. That was my escape mode if I felt empty and lonely. Cleaning has been my passion since  I was a child. I didn’t think when I first started this that my business will grow that high. I was just following my passion.

What is unique about your business?

We are happy cleaning team. Most people hate cleaning but we love it. I hire people who are friendly and always smiling while they work. They should love what they doing. We are consistent with everything and system, from booking clients for appointments to follow up after cleaning has been done.

What was your mission at the outset?
Our mission is to help professionals and seniors make their life easier. Their time is very valuable. We want to make sure that we can help them have extra time for themselves and for their family.

How do you keep good staff for your business?

Treat them with respect. Inspire and motivate them all the time. Being a leader is not about a position, it is also about empowerment for your employees to develop their skills as individuals.

How do you advertise your business?

Through word of mouth, referral and using social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Kijiji and Linkedin.

To what do you attribute your success to?

Success for me is not only being rich financially but also as an individual. For me, success is empowering others and influencing them how good they are in all aspect no matter what. Because the more you give, the more you get back.

Do you use an accountant or an attorney?

Absolutely. They are the people you need to help you grow and succeed.

Are mentors important in this business?

100% Yes. It is like riding a bicycle. You don’t know what is right or wrong if you don’t have guidance from experts. Mentors are teachers who will guide you on your journey to minimize mistakes.

Does your company help the community where it is located?

Yes. Our company is now a volunteer as a driver in Drive Happiness. This charity helps seniors to have a ride to the place that they want to go. We support the  ACES Foundation where helping immigrant women grow. We also help the committee in organizing their fundraising event in Caregiver Program. We call that ” We Care” Fundraising event that will be held this upcoming April 18.

If you had one piece of advice to someone starting out, what would it be?

Follow your passion. Never crumble to the things that you think are not working for you. And always dream big. Everything is possible, just believe.
