Spread the love

Join the Alberta Arts Gallery for an evening of performance and story-sharing, exploring the worlds we hope to build. In the rich tradition of Afro-futurism, they want to explore the hopes and dreams we hold for our futures. Inspired by the Black Muslim Futures Zine created by Black Muslim youth and artist in February of 2021 they want to explore questions such as: “The Revolution is won; what world are we building?” and “What were our ancestor’s wildest dreams?”

Doors open at 6pm, event begins at 6:30pm.

The event will include a showcase of featured performances, followed by an open stage for those who would like to share their poetry, stories, music, reflections and art of all mediums. In celebration of Black History Month, they encourage performers from African Caribbean and Black (ACB) communities to sign up for our open mic and welcome community members of all backgrounds to join us in listening and reflecting.

If you would like to sign up for our open mic, please fill out this form.

The Green Room and Roots on 6 in collaboration with the AGA will be hosting this event live from the AGA’s Community Gallery, featuring the visual arts and Black Creatives from the 5 Artists 1 Love exhibition.
