“Universal access to free prescription contraception in Alberta will ensure that all women are in control of their economic future,” said NDP Leader Rachel Notley. “This is good health policy, good economic policy, and it’s the right thing to do.”
If passed, Budget 2023 would invest a record $2 billion – the highest investment ever – to improve primary health care. This would include funding for Primary Care Networks, payments to family doctors, funding to strengthen and modernize primary health care, and investments to help community-based physicians..
r. Malone will run her campaign highlighting her experience a CEO, small business owner, and psychologist over the past two decades as well as her extensive experience as a board member for leading non-profit organizations.
Issues that Dr. Malone has placed at the top of her priorities include healthcare, mental health, and education.
“I want to use my energy and knowledge to energize and strengthen our province and assist Albertans to thrive with good jobs, good schools, and strong public healthcare that includes our mental health,” Dr. Malone said.
“After blocking the passage of MLA David Shepherd’s Anti-Racism Act, their commitments on race-based data collection cites commissioning a report over the next three years, and their opposition to creating an anti-racism advisory panel to conduct consultations and creating a report for Alberta’s police act review. That is just not good enough.
Alberta NDP would need to do more work to appeal to minority groups and people sitting on the fence. Their rallies- which we attended – are mainly participated by the dominant culture.
Indeed, they have Mr. David Shepherd and Ms. Rachi Pancholi, they need to convince Black voices that they have a plan for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Her mission is to leave a better world for our children than the one we inherited from our parents. She will do everything in her power to achieve this.
This ambition has led her to serve on different boards and keeps her motivated to get involved in the community by occupying positions where she can advocate and strive to make positive changes.
Her moral compass directs her with the principles of equity and equality.
Ben appreciates other contestants stepping up and contributing to the democratic process and is friends/acquaintances with all the contestants running in Edmonton South-West. Like most in the black community, Ben appreciates Kaycee Madu’s glass-ceiling-breaking efforts. Ben isn’t interested in attacking people but rather advancing sound research-informed-policies and supporting a Rachel Notley-led NDP to deliver good jobs, good public healthcare, good schools, and a diversified jobs economy.
At a well-attended media event today amongst friends and family, three-term trustee Nathan Ip announced that he will be seeking the NDP nomination in Edmonton-South West. Ip argued that he was the only one with a proven track record to defeat incumbent Kaycee Madu and the UCP.
